It looks as if the NT from cent is stamped on the front of this Lincoln Cent. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks!

Not sure who or what NT is/was, but its PMD (just a counterstamp). Perhaps it was hit with a stamp on an anvil

w/ Fuzzy317. It's definitely PMD. Looks like someone used a vise to smash another cent into the one you have.

The "backwards NT" is about the same size and font of the "Cent" on the reverse of another penny.
Some one may have tried to get creative and either did as suggested above, or smashed 2-4 pennies in a vice and threw it back in circulation.

Interesting, at best.

In his last picture if you look to the left of the T you can see the base of the Memorial, and to the right of the N you can see part of the E. It is clearly a case of having another cent mashed into it Post Mint.

There is no doubt its PMD....if it was from a die it would be raised and it wouldn't be backwards.
