If the ebay seller salted it why doesn't he mention the variety in the description? I would point that out if I salted it. Since he also sells oriental rugs I doubt he knows!

Does Snow do rarity ratings? Is this a R-2?

Snow has a 5 star rating system with 5 being the highest. The rating takes in consideration rarity and desirability. This coin has a 5 star rating which carries a 10x premium over a non variety. However, I think past auctions are a better indication of the value. Even Snow says that his ratings are vague and open to market interpretations.

Oh he knows. If you look at his other listings you'll see that. Plus the start bid of 160 bucks lol.

From Snow's FE and Indian Head cents Guide Book 2nd Edition:
"one of the most popular misplaced digit varieties. Scare variety in high grades, more readily available in low grades. Known as a naked-eye variety. Suprisingly rare in gem red condition. Highest know is MS-63 Red. This variety is labeled by ANACS and PCGS."
