I saw this coin on ebay and it just looks wrong to me. Is it polished, filled or a poor cast copy?

I may be wrong, but I thought I'd point it out to the experts and see what you think.

Boil, boil, BUBBLE and trouble. Me thinks me sees some bubbles...(but I am not an expert!). I am not familiar with the wear patterns on this series but it does not look right to me for this 922 peace with a missing 1.

Tried to cover up the flaws associated with the manufacture of it by artificial circulation.
It was probably included in a lapidarist's stone tumbler barrel, with other coins. An old trick.

That kind of wear with such strong rims? Not a chance that's "normal."

The only possible thing that could cause that kind of wear is if it was put in a jewelry bezel... and then put through heck. I mean *absolute* torture.

*Very* unlikely that's real.

I think the coin is real, but the error was faked, not to hard to do on a coin with this much wear. Seems like calling something an error will bring you almost double money these days. I am always suspicious of errors like this and I collect them (in a different sereis) but still always be vigillante when buying them.

*Says* that the coin has been removed...maybe was a fake all along...especially if the poster took it down. Maybe he was caught on it?
