This is my second day of metal detecting, I went to the same park and found $3.82 all common coins. The bounty hunter is pretty accurate when it comes to informing me what I am about to pull up. Depending how far down it is buried a quarter may register as a dime. Deepest find was approximately 5 inches. In two searches I have found a total of $7.14. This park has been in this town a long time so hopefully I will be able to find something cool.

Ah, I am just thinking of all the kids who lost their ice cream money! Seems like you're making a decent profit for a hobby. It would be cool if you could turn up something a bit older though, maybe once you've got all the common coins up.

How old is the park? I have a park that is from the 1970's by my house and I think all the detectorists ignore it. Quarters are usually the first to go because they are big easy targets. There is another park that goes back to the 1920's or there abouts and they are always detecting there. I find a bunch of stuff of the one by my house. Nothing old though.

I think the park has been around since the early 1900, nothing but common coins as of yet, yesterday I got a good hit dug down about 6 inches and saw a face of a keyhole that looked like it belonged to a lock box of some type, got excited for a second, yep you guessed it was just the lock part of a lock box. It was a stout lock. I have found approximately $15.00 since I have started hunting. Nothing really cool yet. I did find my first silver ring, made in India, its a child's ring.
