I wasn't so sure to keep or spend. This note is roughly 40 years old, Quality is horrible. I inherited this note from my dads old wallet.

Keep for fun if you don't have a better one. Value will probably never be more than $2 in your lifetime though.

Keep for now. I have a several $1 and $2 bills that I give out to nieces and nephews. They like them for the strange and neat factor. I do this in hope that one of them will pick up the hobby.

Its not going to worth more than two bucks! I had a few one and two dollar bills and gave them to my eight year old daughter to spend at Zellers several months back. It was our turn to pay and my daughter presented the bills to the cashier. The cashier looked at them and told us that she would have to call her manager over to ok the bills. The manager comes over and looks at the bills and told us that he could not accept the bills as he could not authenticate them. I just laughed hard and paid with toonies and loonies and left the store feeling very very old! WOW!!

Keep. Like Wade said, it's a priceless souvenir from your dad. I like to use old worn bills like that for bookmarks.

Everyone sees differently when it comes to collecting. If someone close to where I lived showed me the bill I would pay at least $2.25 for it. Reason is simple. I collect word prefixes and this starts with an ARC. Although the condition is perhaps a G I would not mind adding it to my collection for that price. Lets see 0.25 on $2 thats more than 10% the last time I knew how to do calculations. But then I am sure people on this forum may have a name for a guy like me which may starts with a - you know what I mean The answer to your question: - If you think you want to keep it for investment then I think your $2 will earn a better return somewhere else. If you think you want to keep it for sentimental reasons so that for years there will be a story around it then there is a value in keeping it. If all else fails mail it to me in Canada and next time you are hear I will buy you a real treat at Starbucks

Remember when you graduated from High School and you bought the "year Book" of the year you graduated for $20.00 more or less. I did too, back in 1979. It has pics of all the friends, teachers, colleagues and acquaintances I went to school with during those three years at Moncton High. Today, 35 years later, you couldn't pry that book outta my hands for $1,000.00 because of the sentimental value. That's exactly what that $2.00 bill will be like for you 35 years from now! Glenn

Give it as a tip, the server will love it and you will be remembered next time. Wealways leave something different like a fifty cent piece a nickel dollar a US two or some other fun item as part of a tip.
