This T-I 1976-D Ike dollar has numerous copper "spots" obverse and reverse..it looks harshly cleaned..I've seen many 76 IKES with what I call rim flakes, some small, some quite large, pulled away from rim clad layer during strike, and, shredded onto the fields, some quite dramatic.....my theory is when this was cleaned, it took off the rougher portions of copper originally laid on surface, leaving washed out ares we see now...what's your theory? Weighs in normal, at 22.55 grams, so, missing clad layer issues out. TY Calvin G.
Don't you remember? It was involved in an armored car robbery and that is dried blood stains from the shootout with the mobster. It was cracked out of the Star Grading Service holder, label removed.
