looks like large date, using this page as reference:
http://www.lincolncentresource.com/...alldate.html

the curl end of the 9 looks blunt, and the tops of the 9, 7, & 0 don't appear to be in line

I agree, looks like a large, but in the future I would post a picture of the whole coin straight on. I know you are focusing on the area that you think you see something, but others may look for other things. As an example on this coin, the characteristics of the date can be deceiving and I would want to look at LIBERTY as well. Not giving you a hard time @theworstever, I just think you will get more help in the future if you include at least one straight on full pic in addition to the "close up" of the affected area. I know, because I used to do the exact same thing at first ;)

when I try and identify if it is a small date I always look at the liberty because I know towards the TY it is faded and almost easy to pick out with the naked eye...although iam not sure that ALL small dates have this...someone correct me if I'm wrong

I've seen weakness in that area on the Denver cents. So look for the location of the mint mark first, the blunt or pointed ending of the 9.

Why is the 70-S date alone posted at such crazy angles? It's much easier to tell when it's horizontal.

I look at them upside down.
Easier to spot the length of the seven.
Do not take pics. that way though

How many times have you had to post that photo coop?...lol

It's so easy to look up, just punch in at the left hand side where it says- 'Search Coin Community' and coop's excellent photos will show up.
