Got this in a junk silver bin for $10 from a store I've bought quite a bit from. I kind of feel guilty over not saying anything but on the other hand I feel like it was just kind of lazy missing this one.. I mean over half the date is there it's pretty obvious. I'd like to hear thoughts on this

What do you want to hear? I say nice pick. If it was in a junk bin then the store probably paid junk price for it. Good pick up.

Nice pick! I've gone through a lot of junk and have only found a '21-S. The P and D elude me yet.
Check your email, I sent you an important message.

Same here FTB, the asking prices for a decent P or D are a little more than I'm willing to pay right now. I suppose sooner or later I'll bite the bullet though.

There is no reason to feel guilty. Instead, feel HAPPY! ANY coin in a bargain box is fair game to those who KNOW what to look for. PLEASE, feel good!

Never feel guilty for using your knowledge to your advantage. Cherrypicking is fun and potentially profitable.

I think you should return it.....NOT! Nice cherry pick! I think the person who lost out was whoever apparently sold it for melt.

Forget it. There are many possible reasons for that coin being in there. 1. Put in purposely so customers would come back often and search that box. 2. Put in there puposely to create a new or repeditive customer for that type of coin. New Walking Liberty collector. 3. Has so much money, a few dollars one way or the other makes little difference. 4. Got it for $0.50 in change so what you paid is almost pure profit.

Enjoy the find ... Here's a flip-side story that this reminds me of: Back in the early 1980's there was a local jeweler who actively bought and sold coins. He sure knew his jewelry, but his knowledge of coins was very limited, so he had a helper who was, IMHO, but modestly versed in the coin business. One day I stopped in, the coin helper was absent, and the jeweler was on the phone. While waiting for him to show me some coins in the case, I fumbled through a counter-top box of Barber dimes that were a pick at around $1 each or so. I found an 1895-O therein, worn but having full rims. When he got off the phone, I handed him the coin and suggested he put it in his case with a $100 price tag on it, which he did. The following week, the coin had been sold for $100. He thanked me, we became fast friends, and I can't begin to list the great coins, tokens and medals that came my way over a span of twenty years. I helped him with many of his major purchases and sales ... not as an employee but as a friend. He was a great guy!
