Hi all.

My main interest is coins, but now I aquired about 100 WWII German 50 reichsmark bills. 80 of these UNC, 60 of those with the wrap still intact and 40 of those are in sequence...

I tried to grade them, but since I don't do currency that often, I'm sort of lost..

I found this to be helpful, but maybe you can help out as well..

The paper quality is awesome, the embossed nazi logos are all in excellent condition.
However, I'm not sure where on the grading scale the corners are. they are just "distressed", no counting folds or any of that sort...
Would the corner bumbs make this a 66? Maybe lower.

any and all info would be appreciated
If these would be up in the 65-67 range, I'm thinking about sending some in for grading...not the ones in the original bank wraps though.

thanks

Thanks...
I like them too, and couldn't pass them up when they were offered...got a bunch of circulated ones in the lot, 50, 20, 5, and 1 reichsmarks.

the pmg population of this note is two at 58, one at 64 and a single 66.
and the price guide puts a 60 at $35, or that might just a wild guess on their part.

So if these would go as high as 66-67, I would probaly send some in to be graded for resale

The population report for world notes is going to be deceptive because significantly fewer collectors of world notes TPG their collection. One of the reasons for this is the relaxed standards used by the US TPG companies. In the rest of the world a note is either UNC or it is not. There is no 10 point sliding scale of UNCness.

They are nice notes. They are occupation notes. Are their penciled dates on the straps themselves?

Yes, it has a stamped date (dec 1943) and two signatures in pencil on the strap.
