this is a tough one to grade as the obv and rev are so far apart. obverse looks VF25. reverse EF40. I'll go with net VF35 even though I usually go with the obverse grade. not convinced it has been cleaned. if it was, it was a light clean. to me this would have a value of about $125-140 as it doesn't have great appeal. this is just my opinion as I'm not a bust half person.

Definitely in the VF-XF zone.

You can push this off for over a $100, easy. Any plans of slabbing this find?

Not sure it if is worth stabbing, but the thought occurred to me. I like the reverse better, I'm not really sure what is going on with the obverse, it may be partially be my photo. If the obervse was a bit bitter, I think it might be worth professional grading.

From looking at photograde, it seems like there are more difference in appearance on the obverse rather than on the reverse for the VF-AU range. It seems like the front has more delicate areas to wear, while as the reverse design is bolder and wears less.

I have it at EF40. A TPG might shy away and call it cleaned; my gut tells me it hasn't been.

I'm with supgog on this -- XF-40 details, improperly cleaned. The reverse is very sharp but the surface has clearly been tampered with. I like the obverse -- and those small abrasions look random and natural to me.

EF details. Looks like an old cleaning and has retoned nicely but I think it may just fall at tad short of being market acceptable.

Perhaps an old cleaning. It has not been out of a 2x2 for 30 years, until I took it out recently. It's in an airtite now (expect for the photo). I've read that it used to be much more accepted in the past for collectors to clean their coins.
