It looks like it might be cleaned to me, with all the small scratches going in the same direction on both the reverse and the obverse. Or it might have been a jewelry mount as there is an odd spot above the one and below the Indian head where they may have been some solder.

The details appear to be AU+ and an improper cleaning is evident. Possibly an ex-jewelry piece also. It is a Type 3 Upright 5 Variety.

definitely cleaned with all those little hair lines. AU sounds about right- either way, nice gold coin!
