Not a capped die and not Struck Through Grease, struck through a die cap (or struck by a capped die, they are one in the same). Report this Post to the Staff

On a late stage cap more of the Lincoln design would be showing through. In the case here the last traces of the reverse have disappeared but the obverse design is just faintly showing through.
