My display cabinet comes from http://www.jysk.ca. It's inexpensive but well built, nice and solid, even the glass door closes with a satisfying 'thunk'. I don't know if you could stain the wooden parts.

I have a curio cabinet similar & it does get dusty inside. Is this tightly sealed so you won't have to dust the contents?

Very little dust. Except for the door it's a sealed unit. 13 1/2" x 15 1/2" x 65" high.

Thanks very cool! Mine has doors on both sides (maybe I could seal with weather stripping?) Very impressive. I might be afraid to show off some due to talk that could lead to possible theft. In US & this economy anyway.

Forgot to say I really like your whale coin & stamp set & I got one also-back when wooden cases were the norm!

The display case sits in the middle of what we call "the coin room" which is just that - a room in the basement full of coins, in various display cases and mounted on the wall.

We kind of worried about putting everything out there in the open like that, but decided what the hell, if it happens, it happens. Most guests never get downstairs so the only people who see the coin room are trusted. And besides, coins are pretty to look at, why have a collection that nobody sees?

Great answer, I love it! I have a spare bedroom nobody sees & have been meaning to clean up. I really like your idea of a coin room & think I should do this! Thanks so much!

You're more than welcome. I have more pictures of the room if you're interested but they're too off-topic to post here. If you're interested send me an email.

A Superman release collection would make a pretty impressive display in themselves for anyone with a coinroom.......Im thinking when I get around to reselling Superman it will be a complete set of coins and stamps..press sheet, cards and cats..i notice there are a few on ebay and one is at 5 K on auction and the other is a BIN at 4400.....the coins seem to be creeping up in price for the most part with the 3 one oz coins selling in the 150-170 range and up on average..i shouldve got more vintage..im gonna try the RCM first thing and see if I can get lucky..so far I've only got 2....

Just to let you all know that the RCM has the 1/4 OZ "Vintage Superman" back on sale on the website for $44.75.

Check ebay's completed items and you'll be amazed to see what these are selling for!

tried to order more vintage Superman but they are holding me to a limit of 2......they say on site that 88% mintage of vintage is sold..youd think they would up the limit at least at this point ....trying to get on a waiting list but the phone servioe is not good this morning..im now at 30 mins waiting for the final rep....after all they have over 1000 coins sitting around and theyre refusing to fill orders..go figure..also I was told my big and first order incl gold hasnt been shipped yet but my smallest order has ....rep says that orders arent shipped necessarily in order they are taken..guess they flip a coin when they decide which orders to ship..i think I'm about to give up on this one.....gave up! at 34 mins waiting...whatever!

I really hate phone orders & usually do all ordering online. I like an email confirmation showing my orders & not someone telling me I will get. This doesn't necessarily mean I will get my order as I found out from CP. The RCM is doing a great job selling but delivery is sub-par. RCM is one of the best mints in the world but need to hire more people to ensure they have good complete service. Behaving like a business & really not serving it's customers but itself. This economy needs a boost & RCM should hire more people to improve customer relations and not end up being scorned by their customers like Perth Mint has succeeded at quite effectively. My 2 cents worth anyway.

They have a hiring website. They are looking for 12 people and some Re in shipping. It's been up over 2 weeks, they must not get much response. Just type in Royal Canadian Mint jobs, and you'll find the web page. I found it accidentally.

I like the US but would love to work for them. Maybe their hiring qualifications are too high-like being a 30 year old virgin. Just joking!
