I think it could go VF20 Env Damage. someone took a hammer to this poor lady or it got run over by a horse and buggy. how sad is that.

Env. Damage or not, it is a nice find. Wish I can get lucky with a find like this in a junk bin :)
F-15 to VF-20 is a good range.

Some rim hits, but no corrosion or verdigris to suggest environmental damage. And I would grade it higher than F15; that smooth area on the reverse from 12:00 to 2:00 isn't wear, it's a die bulge, as struck.

If it was me, before a considering a grade, I would want to know if it was authentic. Any one else have the same thought?

It's only not real if its a die transfer copy or electrotype of a genuine S-138. That then inexplicably was given a bunch of rim hits. I would say genuine, unless there's an electrotype seam around the edge.
