I'm new to scanning/imaging, let me know if the scans are not high enough quality to grade.

I am bad at grading coins, but that sure is a looker for a 1921 high relief coin!
Very nice!

I apologize for bombarding this thread with so many photos of the same coin, but I'm just trying to get a hang of coin photoing. I'm starting to suspect this Peace dollar has been cleaned, but I'd like a few second opinions before I think about returning it.

Definitely looks cleaned, based on the horizontal faint scratches across Liberty's cheek and in the reverse field below E PLURIBUS. Too bad since it otherwise looks like at least a high AU coin with an above-average strike.
A 1921 Peace in no-problem MS-63 sells for around $350; with cleaning this piece is probably worth less than half that price. Might be OK for a date set or album if the price is right.

Yeah, you're right. It doesn't make any sense to me why this coin was cleaned. The detail, especially on the reverse is excellent, although it's not that apparent in my bad photos. Those lines are really hard to see without magnification. The luster was my first clue, it doesn't pinwheel, it just has a flat mirror type luster.

It's always painful to see a nice coin scratched up from someone who didn't know better. bah

Yep high AU cleaned, dang it, that was a super nice dollar before someone took a rag or cloth or something to it. Still a nice looking tough first year date though. The reverse is fairly well struck up which is not seen often.
