Hello Forum members
I am a long time coin collector just starting to branch out into the world of Canadian cents. I picked up a Library of Coins album "Canada Cents 1858 to date" from circa 1959 (last date listed is 1960) and am looking for some recommended sources for Canadian Large cents. Any of you have any suggestions or have any large cents you wish to part with, please let me know.

Good for you! I presume you'll be looking for raw coins? Low grade or higher? Varieties? Check out http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php if you're not sure. Also http://www.victoriancent.com/ if you want to get right down into the details. Will you also be looking for the 40 years of small cents the album covers?

Kuh 85, thank you for the two links, very interesting about all the varieties. As for condition, I will be shooting for XF or better on all the coins. On Unc examples, I will be looking for brown or red/brown since the Library of Coins albums tend to tone out the red right away anyway. And yes, I will be going into the small cents as well but I think I will be able to fill most of that section from the misc Canadian cents I have stashed away over the years. I am sure I will have to buy the better dates in the early 20's and I will pass on the 1936 "dot" coin, my wife would never let me sell the house to get that kind of money for a coin.

I was given five large cents in the spring. Prior to that I only collected 1920+.
I bought about 10 more from local dealers and since then have been buying on ebay. Prior to this, I had never bought anything on ebay, not coins, nothing.
I have enjoyed the hunt and have been careful to stay in my budget. I am only missing 5 coins of the basic set, then I will go looking for varieties. Unless a big coin show comes to town, I think I will stick to ebay.

I'd start with raw coins. Are you collecting certain grades (vf or higher, for example)?
