I guess they're entitled to ask what they want hoping for a low bid (probably 25%) by some unsuspecting newbie. But really!

I wonder if he made a mistake... like supposed to be $24.95 or something like that... if you look at his other auctions he has similar coins priced a little more down to earth... Although there are a few that have the extra digit "mistake" :) So unsure

Yep, sellers are free to post any price they like. You cast your vote by not buying it.

I once watched an old 1903 Springfield sit on the wall of a shop with an $850 price tag when similar rifles were selling for around $400. That rifle hung there for almost 2 years until one day I stopped in and noticed it was gone. I asked the owner where it went and he said "sold it".

So maybe these sellers are just fishing for that right buyer to whom money is no object. They are out there, the 03 proved that to me.

More obscene is the PCI inflated MS67 or 68.

First, PCI is a legitimate TPG BUT the coin requires a close look to see how well they did with the grade.
Second, I consider the price fair for that coin in MS-68 Red.
Third, I don't thing it's Red anymore; more likely it's now RB.

This would be a TRUE case of buy the coin, not the slab.

^ 80s Zincolns (I love that word) are notoriously difficult to find in high MS grade due to rampant manufacture defects (bubbling in the copper plating for one). $300 seems reasonable. (or at least in the ballpark of reasonable)

Nope never ever. Lincolns are my least favourite coin ever I'd never pay more than $20 for one.
