My Father found these coins in Turkey. Can anyone tell me more about them?

A silver coin of Alexander the Great. The obverse is a bust of Hercules in a lion-skin headdress. The reverse shows Zeus (Jupiter) seated, holding an eagle. The legend "King Alexander" in Greek begins at 8:00. This example is more worn than most -- it should cost about $150. 26 mm in diameter and quite thick.
That's what I found out! And welcome to the forums!!

Remember that, looking back at all ancient coins, those of Alexander the Great won't be more common than any other, but will be an irresistible target for modern counterfeiters. I think the difference between fake and real here will be made by increasing the clarity of the pics.

I hate to break it to you, but pretty much any ancient coin "found in Turkey" - whatever the circumstances of "finding" it - is going to be fake. It is illegal to sell genuine ancient coins to tourists in Turkey, and innocent-looking tourists could easily be Ministry of Culture spies. Smart locals with looted ancient coins to sell don't take the risk.

Selling fake ancient coins to tourists is perfectly legal in Turkey. But, ironically, the Customs agents don't necessarily know how to tell fake from real apart, either. It is entirely possible for a tourist to buy fake coins and still end up in a Turkish jail for several months on attempted antiquities smuggling charges.
