So I recently just purchased this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/14105362053....m1497.l2649 for just a tad more than I wanted to spend, but I have a dilemma, my current collection resides in 2X2s in a binder and I really want to place this coin with the rest of my collection, how much does it cost to reslab/regrade this coin if I decide to pop it out of it's holder? Or is that highly unrecommended.

I have the same issue... But I just decided to buy pages that can hold ICCS flips, works well if you don't mind that the dates or not in order.

For a G-6 grade 1858, don't worry about the ICCS slab. It is a $10 cost that adds no value to the coin. Snip the flip, put your coin in a 2x2 and enjoy it with the rest of your collection.

What is really surprising is that the ebay seller (Rick Simpson) offered free shipping on that piece. Rick never, EVER, used to offer free shipping...

His feedback's down to 99.5%, maybe he needs to get it bumped back up.

Although with free shipping you can't leave feedback, so how does that factor into a feedback score? An automatic perfect?

Congrats on your purchase. But as it is only G6 I think you can just remove it and stick it to your album with the rest of the collection.

If it's the only one then I'd snip it as well. However, if you're planning to get more in flips than you may want to split your binder into a 2X2 section and a flip section (and a slab section if appropriate). IMHO, if you're reselling on ebay you're lucky to get 50% of list for a raw coin but can get 60-80% for a TPG'd one.

@lyradnoj - You can't leave the detailed feedback for shipping costs (yes it counts as an automatic 5 stars) but you can still leave the rest of the feedback. However, the 99.5% is based on the ratio of overall positives to overall total feedbacks and doesn't factor in the detailed feedback scores.

shipping ended up being 7.80 (no complaints) I am just happy to add this coin to my collection, I had seen so many go for a lot more than this, so I'll happily add it to my collection, I will probably just snip it out or see if my local shop will trade me for it. We will see.

Just asking, why did you have to pay $7.80 for shipping when it stated that shipping was free to Canada.

I bid on this a week ago, and forgot about it, not expecting the win, when the invoice came in I paid it. Should I mention something to the seller?

For storage of ICCS coins, I have been using hockey card pages., they fit the graded coins perfectly and you can get 9 to a page.

That's a great idea and still well protected and easy to show people,.

...but now what are you doing with all of your rare and abandoned hockey cards...

I agree,snip it.I don't know if a dealer would want a G-6.I find a dealer
is a good place to buy key dates, less competition
than ebay.I just grabbed the same piece in VF for $60 no tax.
(needs a dip in some veggie oil)
