Found this a little while ago, did some research, and came to this hypothesis: this 1980 LMC was struck through the thinnest of die caps. It looks really similar to the one on the far right on error-ref.com. Check out the link below. Also, I'm not selling this because it will be the first of this error type I have found, but do you guys have any idea of value? If it is what I think it is anyway! Thanks all! http://error-ref.com/Struck_through...die_cap.html

By the way- that should bring more than $10, but likely less than $20 on ebay.

Thanks all! I was quite pumped to find this. I second the thanks to Mr. Diamond. If that pic (far right) wasn't on error-ref.com I would not have known what it was. I also feel great that I actually helped you out for a change, Coop. Even though it was just a link. Without people like you and the many helpful folks on here, I wouldn't be able to make "cents" out of any of this stuff.

Mike Diamond's involvement in the error coin hobby is immense and greatly appreciated, but we should not forget that there are others who are involved in the formation and expansion of error-ref.com and the other related reference sites that we use and will use in the future. It's quite amazing what this group of individuals has done for the error coin and variety hobby. It's a great time to be a collector of error and variety coins.

So true. BJ Neff helped me greatly when I first started a little over a year ago. He listed both of my die clash discoveries and my one trail die. Also, Bob Piazza, Jason Cuvlier, Richard Cooper, Simon, and endless others ( to many to name) have helped me greatly. I don't know of any other hobby, or in my case obsession, that has so many great people that spend countless hours helping us rookies along. My thanks go out to you all!

From that link I added a few more images to my educational files. The count as of today is 1243 images for the disk. But I'm still adding more. I'm over 300 more images than the first run of the disk. On version 5 I added a video of the moon. I guess I'm still reaching for it.

That is interesting. I think that is the lightest die cap I've seen.
