Hi all I was looking at a coin for sale via auction online (auction has since closed) that I unfortunately could not afford to buy at this time. I must of looked at it 100s of times One day I will own one,,, this one was beautiful, I don't know if I will ever see one as nice. My question to you CCF members is, do you have a brockage in your collection? I would love to see it

Wow, o-train, that's beautiful! you got yourself a goodie there nice clear brockage. Do you mind me asking,,, Did you find in circulation or buy? I imagine that there wouldn't be any brockage in circulation? I am new to this brockage thing, but I'm in love! It has been interesting reading about how they are made. All the info I have so far is this... In Coin collecting, brockage refers to a type of error coin in which a side of the coin has both the normal image and a mirror image of the opposite side impressed on it. This is caused by an already minted coin sticking to a die and impressing onto another coin. Brockage is rare and, in good condition, coins showing definite brockage can sell for large amounts of money. But I can see it, I can use my imagination haha I can picture them striking it.

Very nicely hubbed brokage. Dead centre, fully struck up.

What do you mean when you say 'hubbed brokage' sel_961 ? dead center and fully struck is so true..
Is there any more out there?
I am sure the rest of us are just as keen as what I am to see more! *PHOTOS PLEASE* I think it would be cool to have a few coins from different countries with the same error on here.

I found it while coin roll hunting. Someone had rolled it and brought it to the bank and I saved it from the alloy recovery program :)

The process of transferring the detail from master die to a large number of working dies is by the process of hubbing.
Actually, hubs are in relief and dies incuse, so I have mislead a bit.
This brokage is incuse. Theoretically, it could be used as a die, although the coins struck from it would have rather poor detail, because the metal from which it was made has not been hardened.

If you really want a brockage look for them in the foreign coin error listing. Brockages on world coins are usually much cheaper than brockages on US coins.

I would love to own one from New Zealand, the one I am drooling over is an old NZ 20c piece. I unfortunately can not afford to buy at $2400 though, not right now anyway.. lotto is my only hope this week! I will have a look around at other countries brockaged coins for sure, to own anything clear like o-train has would be awesome..

This is not a Brockage, but a good example of a Partial Indent error I found CRH almost 2 years ago. It's a 1981 Canadian Cent. http://goccf.com/t/292084[
