I found a 1921 silver dollar today and it looks like the 2 was only half stamped. Anyone know of that ever happening?

I think half stamped because the 9 and 1's are not rubbed down, in fact you can clearly see the stamped borders of all things around the 2. P.S. no mint stamp

We need to see a picture so we can try and give opinions on what might be the reason(s) for what you are seeing as a half stamped 2.
