The pics I posted above, I think is one of the books from the two album set, that Conder101 was talking about.
I thought I had it somewhere, but can't find it right now. If I remember right it has three pages, and would be very expensive to complete. The second book would have had dollar and larger denomination coins.

Quote: If I remember right it has three pages, and would be very expensive to complete. The second book would have hard dollar and larger denomination coins. You are correct on both points. I have both Whitman books. (The large and small type set album) I'm missing several dates in each and probably won't ever get because they're too pricey. Photos I took aren't the best but give you an idea of what's in the large type set.

OK it's a little smaller than I thought. I thought it had the clad and 40% stuff too.

LOL you just called that set small, thing is gigantic even without anything from the 1960's on.

I grew up on Whitman folders and then upgraded to albums, three of which I still have; Lincoln Cents, Liberty and Jefferson nickels, none of which are filled, but I have had them for well over thirty years (I think). One word: Classic!

I have got a basic U.S. type set where there is just one of each type. For example, the cents has a place for a flying eagle, indian, wheat, steel, and memorial. I think the copyright was around 1972 or 1973 but I am not certain. I will try to get some pics up later.

Thanks a lot guys. After seeing this post I just had to pick up a 20th century type set album. I had a bunch of extras from breaking apart sets so this one is over half done. I already have a 7070, but I like the expanded types.

I said "smaller" not small.Earlier I estimated it at 101 holes and I apparently overstated it by about 5 holes, so it is smaller. Compared to the Dansco 7070 it is huge. And a LOT tougher.

I am a little confused by how the two album set is being referred to. Only making this post to try and be more clear. The late 50's early 60's two album set breaks down as Album one - for small size (denomination) coins Half Cent through quarter. Album two - for large size type coins half dollar and dollar. There was a post on these albums a while back, where it was discussed how the late 1700's and early 1800's coins would cost tens of thousands of dollars to purchase in lower grades. I think I was around 25K when I was looking at price guides. Seems like there was someone doing these albums and putting copy coins into the harder holes ... And it looked pretty cool.

That would be cool, I don't think even using fillers I'd want to tackle this set I want to finish my 7070 first.

The killer is the 1796-97 half dollar. Even in Fr-2 it will set you back about $30K. I still have 10 holes to fill and even in AG I would estimate it would cost me $50K to complete the set.

Conder I only had the first album. I can not imagine what the larger coins would cost ...for a complete album two

Question: Is the Whitman type set album similar to the vintage Library of Coins type set albums sometimes seen on ebay? Doubt I would ever have the $$$$ to fill some of the early types from the 1790's but I've always admired them.
