I have one coin. Italian Somalia 1 rupia, 1921. I think it is rare one. I would like to know the price of that coin and if it is real?

Mmmm... not sure about the catalog listing of value (Italian Somaliland KM#6 1910-1921) eg.
1915 Mintage 250,000 F $40
1920 Mintage 1,300,000 F $900
1921 Mintage 940,000 F $1850
?

Here is the catalogue page for this coin; as you can see, the 1921 date is the scarcest, although none of them are what I would call "common". The next question is, of course, "is it real?". I don't see anything I can point at that definitely proves it to be not genuine, though I am as usual sceptical of any super-scarce coin just turning up.

I can`t give exact weight now, because there are no scales in the place where I am now. The diameter is between 30 and 31 mm. So the most important question for me is if it is real or not. How can I check if it is real? I got this coin for a very low price from local somalian in Mogadishu. I got from him some other coins for loww price as well.

I don't like the font and lustre on the coin but again I don't specialize in this coinage so I cannot comment on it.
Just to double check - is it magnetic?
Gut feel: if you've got a bunch lot of rare coins at a low price - be prepared to hear the bad news.

I'd have that certified, for sure. One that may fly under the Chino-fake radar, IMO.

Hi mariuz Couldnt help but post whenever I see a very nice coin. Thats a beautiful coin you have there. I collect world silver crown coins one from each country and Somalia is one of those quite difficult to pin down. I dont have any input on its condition, others here would be in a far better capacity to do so. Great coin!

If it is a silver fake: it is worth whatever its weight in silver is. If it is a base metal fake: nothing.

I found some information about this coin. It tells that there are only 3 original coins. And there are some differences from original in that coin. But I dont think that this info is 100% true.

You need to know the weight of the coin before making any further judgement. If it is not genuine or there is too much discrepancy in the weight, I suggest you take it to the seller and have a refund immediately.

If it is not genuine, it is not worth to look for a seller, because he is a local somalian in mogadishu. The coin, even IF it is not genuine, I think is very nice and it will not be a problem to see it in my collection :) and I spent about 10 dollars only for that coin :)
