I'm thinking this is a very early die stage of VAM 17? Note the broken fourth right star but the hair is still fully intact... I've also included a YT video at the bottom so you can get an idea of the luster since the photos don't really show it well. It might not show up right away since it's still processing, but I have to run and do some final wedding prep stuff (getting married in about 7 hours) so enjoy.

I agree with AU50 and would add if it were a VAM17 EDS it should have the polish lines below the tail feathers. I can't make out if they are there or not.

BTW congrats on getting married. Hope it doesn't infringe on your coin budget...

Thanks Dave, just got home, I think you may be on to something with VAM 49, Kman, I'll take a closer look tonight.

I did shell out a few grand, but our parents (both sets) picked up most of the tab, so that was nice. Buying a house is going to decimate my coin budget, though, and that's the next step...

You can see a CC Morgan that I didn't image yet in the background of the video... ;)

Looking at it now. It has the doubled d in dollar, which narrows it down to;

1D
1D2
17
17A
17B
17C
66
92
107

It does NOT have the gouges in the tailfeathers, ruling out;
1D
1D2

It does NOT have the polish line through the B of LIBERTY which rules out;
66
92

That leaves 17, it's sisters, and the 107.

It doesn't have the double die scratch on the rear wing, nor the doubled eyelid, ruling out 107.

It has to be a very early die state VAM 17.

The D in dollar looks doubled to me in the 49 full coin pics maybe was never mentioned, but only you can tell what the bottom of the right wing looks like in hand, still think its a 49, looks like the bear claw in hair to me as well

It doesn't have this dot, which I think exempts it from being any of the funky feathers...

Well that sucks, cause the die file lines around UNUM look very similar as well
