I was thinking an old cleaning possibly, but it seems ambiguous which is how I like to buy these coins. Since busts are usually always cleaned, the less they look likely to be cleaned, the better! SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 09/24/2013 12:32 am The scratches aren't the problem - the embedded dirt in the reverse letters, an unambiguous sign of previous cleaning (those areas don't easily tone) - is. That said, this is still an 1820. Report this Post to the Staff
