thanks all for replying
I had bought another small collection/set not full of some other silver dollars
the attached was included and I don't wish posting on the other forum because I don't know if it might be fake or not
the set ended with 1957. however the thing is I think I've seen this coin or one similar
a long time ago, if appears legit too your better trained eye than mine
i`ll post on the error forum as I would like learning as much as possible about it
thanks for looking
Dermot
P.s hope the photos are of good enough quality

If it is from an old style Whitman-style folder, from the 2012 May Coin Expo Bell auction (looks exactly like it, has the same mark at 7 o'clock on the reverse - and I had it in hand) - then it is legit... just with corroded or unusual surfaces...

spp thanks very much may I ask what you thought of the coin at that time ? was it not worth
collecting for you or did you see something else..more appealing . and do you think the auction house
may still have records of the auction i`d just like finding out whom may have first(2) collected it

I don't collect silver dollars- but I was at the auction, and I viewed all the Canadian lots... I just remember seeing the nice grade of that 1945 dollar, but the cruddy surface. I remember it, because it reminded me of Homer Simpson...

Pretty much any auction I go to - I view the bulk Canadian lots... kind of like the thrill of the hunt if I see something I like. I have a pretty good sense of observation and memory - sort of comes with the career....
