Folks - Please check this coin out. I am pretty sure it is an error. Several things are going on.

1 - there appears to be a die crack around the edge of the coin in some areas.

2 - most of the coin exhibits areas of weak strike.

3 - the wording on the rim, particularly the front of the coin "flows" towards the rim.

I would greatly appreciate it if one of you error guys could help me out on this one. Found yesterday evening in box of circulated nickels. Hoping its something neat.

UPDATED PHOTOS POSTED.

Thanks

Seeing the obverse, the reverse, and the edge, I am thinking very worn and/or a Dryer Coin

Wait for the experts to wake-up and give their opinion.

I don't think it's a Dryer Coin. If it was it would probably have some scratches/scraping across the face.

It looks as though the rim was pushed onto the face. That might explain the rounded edge.

I'm guessing PMD of some sort.

Looks to be PMD of some sort. My first thought is Dryer Coin.

I might have thought that, but the crack around the outside made me think it was something more, so I ruled out Dryer Coin.

Dryer Coin most definitely. The "crack" you see is just a lip of metal that has been pushed over the edge of the coin from the repeated bouncing in the dryer. Coop has pictures of several Dryer Coins, hopefully he can post them.

CoinCbass , good question about your coin.
The DVD that Coop offers is a great eye opener for all.
