Most of the very significant errors come from public auction. Things like brokages, double revs or obvs, mules, or wrong planchet strikes. If you are lucky enough, minor errors can be pulled from pocket change, or from noodling, where sharp numismatic eyes are put to work. Include die cracks, bitten edges, Cuds, split planchets, doubling, lost or no plating, etc.

True - but errors don't interest me as much as variations. If you have a good microscope, almost all coins have minor errors or imperfections.
Looks like I should have started coin collecting when I was living in Adelaide.!!
