I have got this coin and cant for the life of me find what it is. it looks like a george III token but it is different from it has george II on it and writing is not the same the date is 1790
An imitation Spade Guinea? Portrait is of George III( faces right). II would face left. Why it appears to have II? Bad die sinker perhaps, Grease Filled Die?
Here's a good write-up on the imitation spade guinea brass gaming tokens of the 19th century, which includes a paragraph on those made by "W C B ET CO," presumably of Birmingham (B.I.R.M), but with some evidence for German manufacture: http://www.britnumsoc.org/publicati...NJ_32_15.pdf They find the III to be irregularly spaced on these issues,
It's a gaming token, quite common. There are some rare ones around with different pictures on the reverse but this one is quite a regular one. Value is around £3.
You will never soar like an eagle if you hang around with turkeys.....
