I have been offered to buy said error coin... but having little knowledge of errors or how to price them.. I was wondering what would a fair price for this type of error be? It's in a slab from ANACS

In that colour and grade, a buying price around $325 to $400 would be fair. This type of error is quite common, probably most so with the year 1978. I have bought them cheaper in the past (around $250 for a mint state coin) but that was before errors really got insanely popular...

Thanks!!
The seller was saying George Manz sold two just like this for over $900.. I haven't followed G.M. auctions and have nothing to compare it to.. so figured I would ask out here first to see what a fair price would be.

Other years, like the 1992, 1999 and 2000 commemorative strikes, and newer than 2000, command a more serious offer, like $600 to $800.

The error market is the hottest area of Canadian numismatics. Prices are rising very fast.

Do any of these TPG companies keep stats on what errors get certified, and release the info to the public? So you can gauge when the errors were occurring and what years have more errors than others?

Good to know! I have a 25c struck on a copper 1c planchet. The date is off the flan, but the weight (2.5g) and tiara portrait puts it at a date between 1982 and 1989. Is there any added (or negative) premium for a piece with the date off the flan?

Premium prices are those with the date intact...

Well a recent update... the guy said he sold the piece for 450! Which is fine b/c that's more than I would've paid for...
