It was ugly when I found it.

I soaked it in acetone...and scrubbed the heck around the date and liberty after I found it. The top and tail of the 7 still looks like a small date to me. Too much gunk still inside the the curl of the 9. I want "liberty" to be weak...imho, it's too eroded to tell.

Wishful thinking?

Soak it in mineral oil. That should loosen the gunk without turning it pink like acid cleaners do.

Im pretty sure even with all the gunk on it that it is a LD.
