As mentioned a while ago, I have finally decided to get a bit serious and do a bit of work on presenting Soviet commemorative ruble. All of the coins are circulated and the mintage numbers are for total - uncirculated and proof. There is one coin that I had to use a proof coin as I didn't take a good photo of the UNC coin that I had.

They are about 600kb each and 5 pages in total.

Quite happy the way I presented them. It's quite tight but represents everything that I wanted. Now I'll have to do the same for the reverse - I just can't get inspired to do it... as well as the other projects that I have in mind.

At least, the Soviet Government had a little numismatic empathy, even if they didn't understand the numismatatic market, as we know it. I guess that is why these commemoratives exist.

These days, I would imagine that they would bring a much higher price at auction than what the customers originally paid for them.
Nice, unusual and interesting set!

It was quite undervalued 10 years ago. I remember buying the entire 64 ruble coins for 1000 ruble minus the 1967 small denomination commemorative coins and the Barcelona Olympic coins. That was about 35 US dollars give and take. Add the missing coins together as shown and they came way under 100 dollars. How time flies. The Barcelona Olympic coin set itself goes well over 200 dollars these days - kinda kills the fun of affordable collectables.

Who sez ya can't make a profit outa coin collecting?

Only problem is that you end up keeping the profits, because such a set, when complete, will always stay with the collector; much too difficult to part with.
