I give the obverse a G-4 and the reverse VG, the rim is all there and there is quite a number of feathers on the eagle. anyone with more experience have grades?
FYI, the obv does not have that milky looking film on it and the color is a deeper purple, while the rev the grey areas on the lettering and arrows looks like dirt, I guess it must have been buried. Should I leave it?

I'd say a net grade of G/VG is probably pretty close as far as details. I would agree that this coin may well be a metal detector find. If so, soaking in distilled water could loosen that dirt and make it easier to remove without scratching the coin. Magnification, a steady hand, good lighting and a toothpick and/or q-tip can work wonders without damaging the coin if there's just dirt dried on it.
