What day/time do you find to be the best for auctions to close?

I think the best time is when people are not busy. Normally that's around 7-10 pm. And also on the weekends. Since 75% of the bids happen in the last hour it's better to list then IMHO.

I have a hard time though because I only list 3-5 items per day...normally between 8-10 when I can

As a buyer I like to see auctions end in the morning during the week. Less competition & a better shot at getting a bargain. I guess if I were selling I would go for evenings & weekends.

True

As a buyer I look for last minute things at 3 in the morning if I'm up and I can sneak in a bid and get some silver or hoard of coins for way under value because no one else wants to wait up that late to get in a last bid

I've been told that the best end time is around 9 pm Pacific Time - ebay Time, which is midnight Eastern Time. Best end day is Sunday or Monday & auction should at least go over the weekend.

It really depends on the item. If it stands alone, the high price/high volume times are Sat/Sun 6-8p Pacific. At this time the auctions are fast and furious. If your item doesn't stand out, it won't get the same amount of attention it would in the "off hours". If you are offering a premiere item, definitely have it end during this time. Otherwise, I find that common items get more views and bids if they end 8-10a Pacific, Monday thru Friday.
