1909S I'd say VG8
1931S I'd say F12

Ashame that sucker doesn't have a nice VDB at the bottom

Wow! These are two nice coins that are tough to grade. The 1909-S is sooo close to a VG. I'd call it a G+. There is so little difference in value between a G and a VG that it's really splitting hairs. The 1931-S has a VF obv. but the lines on the left wheat stalk are just a little weak for a VF. Perhaps the picture doesn't due the reverse justice? Once again the values of a F+ or VF are so similar it makes little difference.
