Help With Error Or PMD Identification On A 1956-D Wheat Cent

mjc79 New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 10/07/2013 4:09 pm This 1956 D Lincoln Wheat cent was part of a huge collection of wheats a relative gave me. They have been stored on a closet shelf in very thick zip-lock bags for 20+ years. I have tried to research the condition of this cent for sometime now. At first I thought it was a type of damage caused by heat but other than being circulated there are no other areas on the coin that appear damaged in the same way. It literally looks like a drip of copper about to fall. I am using a Sony Cyber-shot on the macro setting but. I tried to image all angles of the coin with the hope that someone has seen this condition before. Thanks for any help on this. Report this Post to the Staff

You are right that the top of the drip is very shiny. It makes me wonder how long this thing was originally and if it snapped off or something. I agree that it must be PMD because it fits no error category I have ever learned about. Report this Post to the Staff
