I inherited this coin from my grandfather. I apologize in advance for the glare from the 2 x 2. I'm leaving it in there for sentimental reasons.

I'm not expecting a high grade for this coin as there is chatter, plus the obvious wear on the high points and the rim.

Nonetheless, I would like to hear your opinions.

Looks like either a F-15 or VF-20 to me.

OK, I'll go first with a F-12, Cleaned, but an amazing piece nonetheless. I bet it has some stories to tell from it's circulation before finally landing in your grandfather's hands. Seems like he knew who would appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.

Half the rims are gone so I'm not sure if it makes F12 but the devices do look Fine. Was this your grandfather's pocket piece? It's a keeper for the sentimental value with the grade not really being important.

I do not recall him ever carrying around a gold coin on his person, but I suppose it's possible.

Yes, the grade is only important to me in a "I just want to know" kind of way. Value is of no importance as the coin is priceless to me. It will stay in the family and get passed down after I croak.

Thanks for the replies!
