Hi all

I'm trying to figure out if this coin is genuine. What immediately looked odd to me was the G in his name on the obverse.

If it's counterfeit, it would be good to know if it's contemporary or modern.

Thoughts?

Standard copper coin of William 111.
The workmanship was awful.

Thanks.. I was real curious since I've never seen one with a letter missing parts like this, especially when the surrounding parts are so strong.

philadelphian, I'm not sure.. the pictures are on photobucket.com - are you able to view pictures hosted there?

Don't freak out, but it just might say 1600, not 1699 :3

The 9's on these practically lay down. Here's one with a lot less wear, for comparison:

Hi there, not only is this coin genuine but it appears that it may be the rarer unbarred A's in BRITANNIA variety which would add some value. You would need to look closely with a lense to see if they are just weakly struck or non-existant but probably worth doing for the price difference!
