Finally got what may be a genuine "fancy" serial number at the bank today in a stack of sequential bills:

Is-This-A-Ladder-Note?

Questions:

1. Is this actually considered a "ladder note" or would it need to be 09876543?

2. If it's not a ladder note, is it still considered a "fancy" serial number?

3. Does the fact that the serial number begins and ends with "A" make it any more special?

4. Is it collectible and, if so, what is it likely to be worth over face value in crisp, uncirculated condition?

5. Would any of the other serial numbers in this stack (09876476 - 09876499) be considered special, collectible or valuable in any way?

Thanks muchly!

I would not consider it a ladder note. I feel that all eight digits should be incorporated into any "fancy note".

Would you consider this a "spender" or is there anything else that makes this special?

I would use it as tip money for going out for a meal. That's just me though, others may have another opinion.
Rest in Peace

It's not a fancy serial number.

It's an 'almost fancy' -- I have a few of those. I'm keeping my 'almost fancy' notes until I find better one.

It looks unused so if you like it, keep it. Or, as oih82w8 suggested, give it away -- somebody else may really appreciate it.

Well, I already really appreciate it, so I think I'll be holding onto it. I don't know if it means anything, but I also really love the fact that the serial number is bracketed with A's.

The serial number doesn't appear to be special, but it's only two dollars, you're not loosing much by keeping it (I would).

This definitely carries some premium to it... what's the condition? If it's AUish I bet it would sell on wheresgeorge for at least $5.

The note is straight from a newly opened strap from the BEP, so I'd say it's in excellent condition.

It appears to be mid-MS (65).
