All I did to this was soak in acetone for 2 minutes.

Well, it's an S mint so it has to be a proof but I'd call it an impaired proof with all the scratches and spotting. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but most, if not all of it's collector value is gone. Uncle Sam says it's still worth .50 cents though.

Did you check the edge to see if it's a silver proof? I can't really say from the picture but if it is it'd be worth quite a bit more. Either way at least you didn't loose any money on it....

SCDave, that was the first thing I always check on coins.. this is not silver..
