OK, We are about 1/2 way through the 1962-P 5000 mint sewn bag of coins. About 90% so far are reds, probably grade about MS60-63, with the majority probably MS62/60.

The finds started with this 1962

Then a few days ago, this one popped up

Now today, I had to do many double takes to figure this one out.
This last one has a decent sized dent between the "6" and the "2"
The dent is so bright its beyond proof shiny. The thing that caught my eye was the number of "6's" and a cracked "2" as well.

Its probably a broken die, but I thought I'd ask about this one. I can definitely see three "6's", but they look like chatter more than a DDO.

These pics had me turning my head. I keep my microscope camera unfixed, so I can turn it to make the photo a normal orientation. Humans recognize patterns better with things oriented normally .

Yes, its a AmScope stereo microscope, with a 5 Megapixel camera mounted on the trinocular (3rd eye piece). I am going to get a second Binocular AmScope, a 5,10,15,30 stereo microscope as well. So the son and I can process a lot more coins quicker. Plus, the 5x may allow us to take full coin pics of the obverse and reverse. Over the last 4 months using scopes we have found hundreds of error coins that we probably would not have seen with the eye or a loupe. Its a great investment tool.

I shoot these pics in an orientation which shows the best clarity / definition. If people want they can simply download the pics, and then orient them to whatever direction they see fit. It may not show the error with the same clarity. Its not about turning of the camera, its about getting the right lighting and clarity at the angle the camera is at.
