My photography skills suck and my equipment is worse. Sorry. It's really hard to photograph color AND flash AND detail. The spots on the 1861 are on the holder; the fingerprint is on the coin.

I love the tiny 3CS's. I always wonder how many of these got "lost" in the bottom of a pocket, purse, jacket etc and were "washed" discarded with old garments etc... Is this in an airtite or a TPG holder. If it is in an airtite try photographing it outside the holder. All in all a very fun series to collect! Mike

Top one is PCGS and second one is NGC. Very difficult to photograph without the right setup through that stinkin' plastic!

Not normally a series that I am too impressed with, but WOW those are beauties! Absolutely love the toning on the 2nd one. You have a nice eye for coins.

Beautiful coins, Prethen!
So, what are the grades? The 1861 looks like a definite proof with that mirrored field visible in between the shield stripes. With an obvious fingerprint on the obverse I expect it should grade PR-63 or so. I presume the 1870 is also a proof just based on the tone. I haven't seen any business strikes with rainbows like that.
Are you able to take photos without flash? With my non-setup (i.e., hand-held Sony CyberShot) I've found it impossible to get flash photos without glare. However, by positioning the coin under a halogen light and turning off the flash I can get fairly decent shots. This 1858 is in an ANACS holder (unc details net AU55 cleaned).

That 1870 is To Die For. I'm suffering an increasing fascination with silver Trimes - that might be trouble in the long term.
