I know it's a common coin - but it was a cheap pick-up (under £10) and I like it.

Thanks - I think the design works really well. It's now on the "good stuff" tray :)

In my humble opinion the Canberra Florin is by far the best looking Australian pre decimal coin

I love your avatar! I have one of these with incredible toning, I tried to photograph it but cannot even come close to duplicating the incredible cherry, deep emerald, and blue tones on the obverse, reverse is more of a consistent pinkish-gray. It's also in an MS64 PCGS slab but I will not embarrass myself or you by posting my horrible pictures of it.

Best Regards,

George

good EF.
Slight dullness in the King's beard, eyebrow and moustache.
Just the tiniest amount of wear on the mace heads.
Obvious dings and nicks, a few more than for the average gEF Parliament House two bob.

Only a one stepper. (no of steps in the PH building entrance)
The best of the PH coins have three steps. I have seen better steps on a gem Unc. coin than I have seen on a proof!

Small wonder you like it. Most people do!
