I can't quite tell if the few flat spots are from a slightly weak strike or wear.

The rim nicks and dither next to TRUST will not affect the grade as much as you'd think.
Gold being the softest coining metal doesn't get downgraded as much for that sort of thing as the other metals do.
If the coin is a "slider" it will get at least an AU-55 and maybe AU-58.
If those marks are considered "bag marks" then at least MS-63, possibly MS-64.

Those decisions have to be made by the pros with the coin in hand.

kanga, thank you!I see what you mean.I thought to send these coins to PCGS in Paris some day.I hope they'll get MS,because I don't want to have AU in my type collection, especially of the last types gold coins

The top one could probably grade MS-64, the bottom one maybe a MS-62.

I think I see signs of friction in the fields of the 1910 eagle which would likely limit the grade to AU-58. The half eagle might make mint state, although the visible rub on the Indian's cheek could hold it back. If mint state I'd think MS-63 would be reasonable.

I remember reading that the 1909-D is the most common Indian half eagle and as such makes a good type coin but it would not be my first choice for investment potential. I'd prefer just about any other date in comparable grade for my collection, but certainly your coin would make a very attractive type piece.

Two very nice pieces! I really like Indian gold. I have a tough time grading gold. To me, it is a little more difficult than silver coins.

I know,a 1909-D is a very common date and I would like to have a 1927,but I don't invest in coins(only in gold,as a metal),I love a design of US coins, because of this I'm collecting types in a high quality, but a variety of year doesn't change a beauty of coins for me. I've bought this coins just a little bit over a metal value, because of this I couldn't choose a year
