Thanks for the response. I noticed after I posted this coin that NGC variety plus has it on their list, but the population report is nil, so I have no idea about pricing or the population. Looks like this one will be sent in to one of the grading services, but I will have to inquire whether or not they "recognize" this particular DDO. My son and his eagle eye grading capability thinks it will grade higher than a PF66, but there is a little debris from the container on the coin. Hopefully when we carefully crack this case and remove the coin it will clean up nicely with a few shots of air.

Its going to get cracked open one way or another. I buy Proof sets and select mint sets and sell them as singles. So far in the past 4 months we have bought close to 120 proof sets and just recently bought the State Quarters complete sets as well. These seem to see quicker and at a better price by the individual coin. People may be looking for just a particular coin date or type, so its easier all the way around. I think we have close to 1500 Proof coins right now, heck probably more than that ! I am pretty sure its a DDO, and on some wild chance it is not, sending it in to a 3rd party grading service wont be a loss. Coming back as a PF66 or higher has its benefits as well. = )

What is actually doubled on your coin? I see marks on it which might just be ejection/machine doubling. The best way to tell is to make a normal coin/this coin side by side comparison. They don't look enlarged and the marks reduce/distort the devices. So if you can make some side by side that show enlargement, then I would have to check these out for you.

Everything your arrows are pointing at are not signs of a Doubled Die. If it was it would be the same height and thickness as the rest of the devices.

I would say this on the Grading thing,,I only buy PF70 for 90's to now..They are proof coins they are not really good at all to take out, that will not Grade that high at least the idea should be safe one if one is to break the coin out of the Proof Set Box.
Your coin has way to much build up on the dead space's for one for sure,,to grade PF70.I bet a drive to local coin shop would tell you what it is,,if you give them more pics here on this site for sure they will know if you have a Doubled Die for sure,,give them more pics.Slant the coin some a little.Cosmos
