I have a feeling the seller really doesn't know what a Cheerios dollar is. I've already reported the listing.

What is so bad about this listing?

the pics are great
great price- I can get a coin for $5 when my bank tellers beg me to buy the exact same coin for face value.

It is so good I might buy all of them.

Also It kind of alarms me that he has more than 10 of a coin that is worth $10K a pop

Didn't they do a similar thing with the 2000 penny?

It would have to be kept in the original wrapping for it to have any REAL value.

Thanks for this post. It prompted me to finally search what the cheerio dollar is. I used to think that it was the name of counterfeits.

By the way, is the word pattern the same as error or variety?

From the CCF glossary:

Quote:

Pattern
A test striking of a coin produced to demonstrate a proposed design, size, or composition (whether adopted or not). Patterns often are made in metals other than the one proposed; examples of this include aluminum and copper patterns of the silver Trade dollar. Off-metal strikes such as this also are referred to as die trials of a pattern.
