What do you think about this coin? Mint error or man-made error?

Hi,-New-Member-With-First-Post...

Notice the "Tails" side imprint on the "Heads" side.
Thanks everybody!

Hi brefos77 and welcome to this forum!!

It looks like post-mint damage to me. Just my opinion. Let's wait for what others have to say.

I believe it might be an error. The indents are that of Liberty's folds of her garment. Can't remember the error name though at the movement.

That's really nifty! You can even see a capital U from "United" as well. I'd keep this one, certainly.

looks like one coin was placed on top of the other and pressed since the U and robe are opposite of normal direction

it looks like a die clash to me. I don't see anything on the reverse so it would be an obverse die clash. some people collect them so there may be a premium on it of a few bucks depending on what the collector thinks of it.
hope that helps
Gary too

I think sleaklight is right. Looks to be rim damage in the area on both sides of the coin.

Thanks for your replies and opinions. I'm not sure what to make of the coin. You can never tell these days, but I'll hold on to it just in case other ones show up. Either way, I still have at least a dollar!

Post mint damage

Im pretty sure its a sqeeze job (two coins squeezed together ),, the rotation of the imprint is Impossible unless the dies were very rotated.which the coin does not show as being the case. nor would a clashed die affect the rim as this one does show .

Very cool brefos! I've searched a couple rolls of Adams' myself. Did you find any off center edge lettering? I seem to have come across a few and was wondering if they're all that way or if I got lucky, or if I'm being overly harsh no the new coins.

Craig, I got this coin via "change for a five" at a store, so it's circulated of course. This was one of those things where it was too good to be true. Now if I had found one in a fresh roll, I would have freaked out! There's alot of "bad" coins out there, so if it ain't certified, I'm not buying! I've got another attempted error (I think?)that I found, so I'll post that in another post.
