Ive beent o this place befoe and went in again today and saw their little coin bin was noticably fuller. they had poured in a big pile of copper. It seemed to all be modern (1820s-1960s) but I found some good stuff in there.

My first Gvlie and Mary (found two and took both), 1 alright George II (there were 3 more, but I threw em back), a George III love token (very happy to find this but the chappy was a right cheapskate - should be a sixpence! I was going to find one on ebay and spend a good few quid so 20p was a good deal), a counter stamped 1806/7 farthing (SPENCE'S PLAN), a modified carthwheel penny (perhaps a crimper), a George IV HIBERNIA penny (there were many Hibernias in there, but only 1 penny and only 1 in good enough condition to be worth more thn 20p), a silver plated 1920 penny which has been worn a bit (im worried its mercury, so I've been very careful with it, wearing protection), an 1824 8 maravedis from Spain and finally a 5F from french polynesia. Not bad for £2.

Spence's Plan was the revolutionary manifesto of English Radical Thomas Spence (1750-1814). The major points (courtesy of Wikipedia):
The end of aristocracy and landlords;
All land should be publicly owned by 'democratic parishes', which should be largely self-governing;
Rents of land in parishes to be shared equally amongst parishioners;
Universal suffrage (including female suffrage) at both parish level and through a system of deputies elected by parishes to a national senate;
A 'social guarantee' extended to provide income for those unable to work;
The 'rights of infants' to be free from abuse and poverty.

As put forward in his 1775 treatise The Real Rights of Man:

Very nice! I would love to get some of those ugly, old coppers for 20p.

Sadly, even the worst of the worst would probably be priced at least $5 here...

Thanks!

If you like, next time I go there, I can pick you out some old stuff and send them to you for a small fee (like, a buck a coin). I had to throw back a lot of old stuff before I settled on the 10 I stuck with.
