Hi: I've an issue about the black sleeve I received with the Silver Fractional Set. It is a bit damaged in the corners, specially in one. I'm almost sure it get damaged on the way. I uploaded some pictures. I would like to read your opinions. The coins, COA, and the clamshell case are ok. The sleeve is supposed to be there to protect all the stuff but it's like part of the whole set? Is it still considered to be in Mint condition? Should I send it back? Or it doesn't make sense? Thanks.

I will just keep it since I have no plan to sell my collection. But if you have any plan to sell, then that would be a problem. That is what "some dealer" would call a "tattered outer sleeves" in their "unique sale", with marked down price.

i would ask them to send you a replacement sleeve, but they might just assume that you dropped it..

For me looks fine. I usually want the coin and related package in ideal conditions, but standard black sleeve - I do not mind.
Really, if I would buyer and the seller will tell me that only this is the issue - i'll take it for full price.

I had a similar problem! Ideally I would want the sleeve in mint shape, as it is part of the package. I like all coins to be mint if resale needs to be done in the future.
I would ask the rep to send you a sleeve. It really shouldn't be a problem for them in order to keep you happy!

I've received boxes with upside down or tattered stickers and just yesterday received my Candy Cane coin with a damaged corner. Personally if I bought on the secondary market it's not a make or break but it is nice to get NCLT items in 'perfect' condition.

I agree kwest, even on the secondary market I expect mint shape packaging as you do pay good money for these. Exceptions do apply if it is clearly noted from the seller that some damage has occured though! But coming from the mint or CanadaPost, these should all be in mint shape. If you order a coin from CP and it needs to be transferred between postal outlets, they should pack them in cushion and in a box! If packed accordingly, nothing will happen to them.It all boils down to common sense with whoever is shipping them!

It's from an official RCM dealer.

All the better, as they should be able to get another sleeve directly sent to you from the mint!

That's good to here arianzo!
I always think it is more complete as a set to have everything the mint sent with the coin and in the best condition as possible.

Note the UPC/description label.
It may be possible to get a blank replacement sleeve, but it wouldn't make much sense to have extra labels available.

Yes it is correct! Only originals have the UPC labels to protect mintage numbers! But you can use that label for the replacement sleeve.

But the mintage is related to the COA .... not to the sleeve I think.
The label is like glued, how can I move it...

You are correct arianzo!
The mintage is related to the COA, but the sleeves also carry a barcode with description label on them.
The mint will send you another sleeve but it won't have the label because labels are produced according to mintage!
If you use a sharp utility knife and very carefully lift the one corner of the label it will come up enough for you to carefully peel off and place on your new sleeve.
Just do it slowly and carefully!
